The goal of my project was to create a calculator that could model the movement of a slider-crank given the lengths and rotating speed of a mechanism. I also aimed to calculate the maximum velocity that could be achieved by the specified mechanism. After establishing an equation model for a slider mechanism, I coded a computational representation of this in MATLAB.
Users can enter the parameters of their mechanism and click 'start animation' in order to model the position and velocity of the specified slider. The calculator also calculates the maximum velocity the slider attains.
This project can be taken to the next level by incorporating slider acceleration calculation, a more visually aesthetic GUI, and options for calculating in various units.
